Johnson Tiles Launches Red Ramp Project Campaign

H&R Johnson (India), Integrated Lifestyle Solution provider launched the second phase of their “Red Ramp Project” to spread awareness in order to make India accessible for the visually impaired with the use of tactiles in public spaces. This Campaign is a second initiative of the “Red Ramp Project” executed in 2015 by Johnson Tiles.

Conceptualized by Soho Square, the campaign features Adwait Marathe, a person who is blind since birth yet is an established actor, singer and a theatre personality in real life. He portrays how tactiles help him commute independently in his daily life. The campaign is about instilling self-confidence in the minds of the visually disabled to be able to move around independently with the support of better infrastructure across the country.

Supporting the initiative, actor Katrina Kaif said “The Tactile campaign by H&R Johnson can impact a lot of lives in a beautiful way. I am very happy to collaborate with the authorities to make India more accessible for the differently-abled.” Johnson Endura Tac Tiles have been laid in a number of places across the country and also at Hyderabad Metro projects to provide differently-abled people easy access across the cities.

Flying Bird Yoga Offers Flexibility, Says Akshar

Brandmaster Akshar says, ‘the beauty of Yoga lies in its flexibility and versatility.’  According to him, Flying Bird Yoga- the Aerial Yoga, is the latest innovation in the world of yoga which utilizes this exceptional quality of yoga to provide one with absolute mind-body-and-soul experience without compromising on its authenticity.

“There’s no denying that this will be one of the toughest things for normal yoga enthusiasts – it’s quite a challenge.  A combination of upper body strength and stamina is required to master the moves. Aerial Yoga and Pilates stimulate your endorphins, to boost your mood naturally, and they can help strengthen your core and increase joint mobility. Flying bird yoga helps to build strength and stamina along with the challenge and fun factor in it,” he said. He said that Flying Bird Yoga offers many of the same benefits and enjoyments of regular yoga, but it also has some additional benefits as well. “Since you have more freedom of movement, you can move your body into new positions. In some cases, this can result in a deeper and more fulfilling stretch than what traditional yoga offers,” he said.

Yellow-Throated Bulbul Draws In The Crowd

The BSAP and Goethe-Zentrum Hyderabad presented a talk by Ashish Jha on Tri-Marriage of Science, Society and Bird. Conservationist by birth, engineer by degree, Ashish Jha chose Ornithology as his area of research. For the last two years, he has been weaving facts and data for his PhD study model on the Yellow-throated Bulbul. As legal bird-trapper, Ashish travels through the woods collecting genetic samples of the birds. When not chasing Bulbuls in wild, Ashish Jha spends his time getting data and running analysis at the Laboratory for the Conservation of Endangered Species (CSIR-CCMB) Hyderabad.

He spoke on the connection between three seemingly different areas: Science, Society and Birds. Ashish was one of the award-winning e-birders for June 2017 of the prestigious Bird Count India Award. The Hamburg Hall was filled with people, about 40 of them to meet Aashish Jha, who chased and lived with the rare yellow-throated Bulbul close up. His stories and account definitely took the audience high up into the mountains of the different forests of Telangana where it is found and at the same time gave the audience a feel of what it means to be a scientist. The presentation was followed by an interactive session with the audience.
